Your own photo website

Create your own photo website
With the launch of the new Railway Herald website, we're also giving all of our readers and members of the website the ability to create their own photographic website, without any HTML knowledge, totally free-of-charge, to display their best railway images.

This particular part of the Imaging Centre will launch within the next two weeks and it is hoped that it will provide users, of all abilities, with a quick, easy and adaptive way of creating railway photographic websites. In addition, your site will be listed in our Internet Links gallery and through our 'Contributing Photographers' directory within the Imaging Centre itself.

Setting up a photo website with the RH Imaging Centre will be a simple process in itself. You will simply choose a name for the site and an access url. Select a few other preferences and them choose a theme. Initially it is expected that there will be around five theme's to choose from, but more will be developed and added as we progress. Each theme will be customisable, to allow you to choose the colours, whether the pictures display as thumbnails (large or small), tabulated or full size, which (if any) information boxes you want to display and any other pages. In Version 2 of the software it is also planned to allow users to create their own information pages, extending the abilities of the system.

Once you've done this, you'll create albums (all galleries except the Default Album will have the ability to be shown on your website) and upload and caption images and then put your website live. It literally will be that easy and it gives you the ability to upload images and amend your website from any internet cafe or computer, anywhere in the world.

Launching shortly!
