The long awaited return of BR Standard 7P 'Britannia' No. 70013 Oliver Cromwell, finally took place on 3rd May 2008. The locomotive, which moved under its own steam only two days previously, spent the morning in light steam around Loughborough MPD, prior to venturing out on light engine test runs during the afternoon.
With all looking ok, the locomotive worked its first revenue earning train, the 17.10 Loughborough Central to Leicester North service the same afternoon. Here Oliver Cromwell, passes Woodthorpe, on the outskirts of Loughborough with its first passenger working in decades.
