BR Standard 8P 4-6-2 No. 71000 'Duke of Gloucester' at Woodham's Barry 27th September 1970. The Duke was withdrawn 24th November 1962 and designated as part of the National Collection at Crewe North shed where it stayed until December 1964 when transfered to the Works. It stayed there until March 1967 when it was decided that only the valve gear would be preserved, and went to Crewe South and was sold to Woodham's arriving 22nd November 1967. It was rescued for preservation 24th April 1974 when it was moved to the Grear Central Railway at Loughborough.
