GWR 0-6-0PT No. 1501 was built at Swindon in 1949 to an unusual Hawksworth design, having deep pannier tanks and outside cylinders with Stephenson valve gear, and was one of a batch of ten such locos destined for shunting duties at Paddington. Unfortunately the loco had been relegated to similar duties at Grosmont, when pictured during its visit to the NYMR on 27th September 2014, following a minor technical problem.
