LMS Royal Scot Class No. 46115 'Royal Scot' is seen departing Appleby with 'The Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express' railtour. The train originated at London Euston and travelled via Upperby Curve at Carlisle, to Appleby where the passengers alighted, before departing 70 minutes later back to London Euston, this time via Settle. Normally the tour heads to Carlisle for its break, but because of engineering work Appleby was chosen. Due to strike action no passenger trains are running so this train was able to stay in the platform.
