On July 31st 1967 a down cement train derailed near Thirsk and the 12.00 King's Cross-Edinburgh hauled by No. DP2 collided with the wreckage. This print was given to me by my friend the late John Boyes who lived near Thirsk and was the first photographer on the scene. No. DP2 was subsequently scrapped.
