This locomotive was built in 1906 by the North British Locomotive Co. It was acquired in 1920 by the Great Western of Brazil Railway (GWBR)for use in stations and marshalling yards and for short journeys on their extensive metre gauge network. It was converted from wood-burning to run on fuel oil in 1950.
