Stanier 8F 2-8-0 No. 48773 (LMS No. 8233) was built by North British in 1940 to fulfill part of a War Department order, and saw service on the Trans-Iranian Railway hauling supplies to Russia. Derailed after colliding with a camel, it went on to serve in the Suez Canal Zone, before finally returning to the UK. Seen here on display at the Highley Engine House, on the Severn Valley Railway on 19th June 2010.
