Following the failure of no. 5690 'Leander', the Scarborough Spa Express was diesel-hauled on the outward journey to Scarborough on 12th August 2010. However, West Coast Railways were able to despatch LMS 'Royal Scot' No. 46115 'Scots Guardsman' from Carnforth to Scarborough to work the return leg. The train is seen here running well on time at Bolton Percy, south of York.
