Despite the overcast conditions and impending rain, trackside fire risks dictated that steam-hauled passenger services could only run between Wansford and Yarwell Junction. Consequently, Hunslet (3844/1956) Austerity 0-6-0T No. 22 repositions to the signalman’s red flag, so that the train can be diesel hauled for the remainder of its journey. Seen here on the Nene Valley Railway on 7th August 2010.
