LMR 2-10-0 No. 600 ‘Gordon’, a War Department Austerity design, was built at Hyde Park Works in Glasgow in 1943. The second of 150 engines of this class, and the last steam locomotive to be owned by the British Army, it was named in honour of General Charles Gordon (of Khartoum). After the war it was utilised for driver training at the Longmore Military Railway until 1971. Seen here at the Severn Valley Railway on 19th June 2010.
