The Railway Touring Company's charter from Newcastle on 3rd December 2010 encountered severe operating problems, the northbound empty stock working being considerably delayed. The train was booked diesel haulage from Newcastle to York. LNER class A4 No. 60019 'Bittern' was booked to work the special to Lincoln, however, the steam section was diverted via the Wakefield Kirkgate/Westgate 'loop' and ran back to York. The train is seen here passes Copmanthorpe, shortly after departure from York, running 168 minutes behind the original schedule with WCR class 47 no. 47851 on the rear.
