Class 47/4 No. 47402 'Gateshead' arrives at Ramsbottom with a train from Rawtenstall on 10th January 2009. The second of this vast class to be constructed at Loughborough in 1962 it was named in November 1981 and was withdrawn on 1st October 1986 but re-instated a few days later for crash victim 47 464. Since this photo was taken the loco has been restored to two tone green livery as D1501.
