The new East Coast timetable was introduced on 22 May 2011. The 05.40 from Edinburgh to King's Cross, designated 'The Flying Scotsman', is scheduled to complete the journey in 4 hours calling at Newcastle Central only. The inaugural train on 23rd May 2011 is seen here passes through York at 07.52 propelled by Class 91 No. 91101. The loco has a new purple livery complete with 'Flying Scotsman' logo.
