Industrial Saddle Tank 0-4-0 Bauxite No. 2 stands on display within the Great Hall of the NRM York on 3rd December 2011. Built in 1874 by Black Hawthorn & Co Ltd, in Gateshead, the locomotive spent its life working as a factory shunter, moving wagons of bauxite rock about an aluminium smelting plant. The oversize buffers allowed the locomotive to push a variety of wagons, which had various buffer heights, over badly laid track without hindrance.
