First TransPennine Express Class 185 No. 185127 passes through the King George V Bridge at Althorpe, working the 10:26 Cleethorpes to Manchester Airport service, on 28th July 2012. The Scherzer rolling lift bridge carries both road and rail traffic over the River Trent, and when built (1912-1916) the 50 metre electricity powered bascule was one of the first of its type in Britain and the largest in Europe.
