Reminiscent of the early 1970s sees Class 50 No. 50009 'Saturday', next to Class 303 No. 303013, on the buffer stops at Glasgow Central on 14th May 1988. No. 50009 had arrived on a Traintours railtour from Birmingham along with No. 50036 and at the time, with the Class 50s in the twilight of their BR careers, was advertised as the last Class 50s to traverse their old stomping ground up the West Coast Mainline to Glasgow.
