Class 506 Unit with car No's. 59604, 59504 and 59404 is stabled at Swanick Junction on the Midland Railway at Butterley on 21st July 1991. It was one of eight sets built in 1950 for the Manchester-Glossop-Hadfield route but not entering traffic until 1954. Withdrawn by 1984 one unit was scheduled for preservation by West Yorkshire Transport Museum, stored at various locations including seen here at Butterley it deteriorated severely and was finally cut up in 1995. All that remains is a severed driving end from M59404 at Barrow hill.
