Constructed from 185,000 bricks, this sculpture is modelled on the 1938 record setting 126 mph LNER A4 Pacific No. 4468 Mallard, celebrating the rich railway heritage of Darlington. Seen here on 8th October 2012, the construction also includes 20 bat-bricks, built in at various places throughout the construction to encourage the nocturnal creatures to use it as their home.
