Waterloo and City shunting locomotive No. 755 stands on display at the NRM 'Locomotion' Shildon, on 8th October 2012. Built by Siemens in 1898, for the London and Southern Western Railway for its new tube line, which ran from Waterloo Station to Bank Station in London. Originally designed to run on 500 volts DC, collected from a central rail, the design was changed to outer rail collection in 1940, and finally upgraded to 750 volts DC in 1954 to match the rest of the underground system.
