A Newcastle - Liverpool Trans-Pennine service hauled by Class 47/4 No. 47444 'University of Nottingham' passes York Yard south signal box on the York avoiding line in mid 1988 during resignalling work at York station prior to electrification. In traffic in March 1964 as D1560 and allocated to Sheffield (Darnall), the loco was withdrawn in November 1990 and disposed of at Crewe Works in July 1995.
