Class 31 No. 31107 'John H. Carless V.C.', in 'Dutch' grey and yellow livery, is seen displayed at an Open Day at Worksop Depot on 5th September 1993. Details of the naming, and a picture of the ship HMS Caledon were on separate plaques. In 2006 No. 31107 was used in a Network Rail 'Don't run the risk' campaign to increase safety awareness at level crossings, and was deliberately crashed into a car at 70mph at Scawby. No. 31107 was cut up in May 2009.
