Gresley Class N2 0-6-2T No. 1744 and Hill-designed 'N7' 0-6-2T No. 69621 emit a superb smoke stack, as they climb the 1-in-49 gradient through Bradley Wood on the approach to Darnholme with the 12.30 service from Grosmont to Pickering on 28th September 2012. This turned out to be the only round-trip made by the 'N7' as it subsequently failed with a fractured steam pipe and regretfully did not take any further part in the Gala.
