On Sunday 25th August 2013 East Midlands Trains 'hired-in' a three-coach Mark 2 set (in Direct Rail services livery) with Class 37/4s No. 37425 'Sir Robert McAlpine/Concrete Bob' and classmate No. 37405 in top and tail format to work five of the scheduled services on the North Staffs route on this day. One of these services is pictured passing Willington, Derbyshire with East Midlands Trains service 1K05, 16:38 Derby to Crewe. It is many years since a regular service train on this route had been operated by a locomotive and coaching stock and therefore this working was a welcome change to the normal Class 153 single units that operate on this route.
