An interesting scene at Bewdley on the Severn Valley on 14th September due to the failure of Class 20 D8059 at Highley, Class 50 No. 50031 'Hood' was summoned as 'Thunderbird' to go to the rescue of the stricken train. It is seen waiting for the 'road' at Bewdley to head north, which it will get once No. 7812 'Erlestoke Manor' has arrived into Bewdley with the morning footplate experience run from Bridgnorth. It wasn't the first time in the week that 50031 had acted as thunderbird, as earlier in the week it had to come to the rescue of 37109 which also ran into problems.
