The twelve and a half mile Flam Railway in Norway main is usually operated by Flamsbana Class 17 electric locomotives top and tailing a set of of carriages. The photograph shows the scene at the only passing point on the line at Berekvam where No. 17 2227 top and tailing with classmate No. 17 2232 approaches with Train 1859, 14:43 Myrdal to Flam (on the left) while (to the right) classmate No. 17 2230 waits for the route to clear so it can continue its journey to Myrdal with Train 1860, the 14:50 from Flam on Friday 6th September 2013.
