Between the 22nd December and 6th January Gravesend station is being remodelled to allow longer 12-car trains to call at the station. As at the 26th December 2013, the up centre line has been removed and a new platform is under construction. The up line from Hoo Junction has been disconnected from the up platform (left) and now connected to the down centre line which will be served by the new platform. The down platform (right) is being re-alined at the country end so that the platform can be extended up to the new signal. The up platform (left) is now a terminal platform for trains from London and is being extended up to the Stone Street bridge.
