Network Rail's Class 950 two-car diesel unit No. 950001 performed one of its track assessment duties on Wednesday 22nd January 2014 when it worked 2Q08, the 07:39 Derby RTC (Network Rail) to Derby RTC (Network Rail) covering in its itinerary various routes in the East Midlands including Burton-on-Trent, Moira, Coalville, Kettering, Loughborough and Toton where, after a short layover the unit continued with a trip to Trowell Junction via Lenton and Radford junctions before returning to Toton Centre and then heading via Castle Donington to Burton-on-Trent prior to returning to the RTC via Toton and Spondon. The distinctive yellow-liveried unit, which is based on the Class 150/1 'Sprinter' unit, is pictured in the late afternoon sunshine passing through Barrow-on-Trent, Derbyshire while traversing the freight-only route between Sheet Stores Junction and Stenson Junction.
