No water requires for newly repainted West Coast class 47 No.47848 as it pauses at Appleby with the 1Z89, 14.22 Carlisle to Crewe Railway Touring company's Cumbrian Mountain Express charter on the 28th August 2021. The loco was used to top and tail the charter from Crewe with No.47746 but had to continue standing in for the failed ex LMS Scot No.46115 Scots Gaurdman, on the southbound S&C leg, which had failed on shed at Carnforth with an AWS fault. This was its first solo outing for West Coast since being acquired from ROG.
