Following the first use of a class 88 on the DRS operated North West RHTT circuit the previous week, a second member of the class featured on 13 October 2021 when no. 88010 was used and is seen passing Hellifield with the 16.21 Carlisle Kingmoor RHTT diagram. DRS class 66 no. 66302 Endeavour, which has been ever present on the working since it commenced on 1 October, was on the rear. High electricity prices have led freight operators to prefer diesel traction where possible, and DRS class 88s have been largely redeployed from their normal ‘under the wires’ workings.
