Ruston & Hornsby shunter No. PWM 653 stands in the Lower Triangle civil engineers sidings at Reading on 8th October 1975 having just returned from overhaul at the BREL works at Swindon. During the week the loco would be used for marshalling the civil engineers wagons in the yard but at weekends the loco would be employed within track possessions propelling an unpowered Track Relaying Machine (TRM) when required.
