On 26th on 27th and 28th August 2022, Barrow Hill Roundhouse celebrated theh birthday of this iconic Midland Railway Roundhouse with an event entitled '150 and 2 Celebration Gala' - the ' and 2' signifying it was 2 years late due to the COVID Pandemic. Here, preserved British Railways Type 4 Class 45 'Peak' diesel locomotive No. 45060 'Sherwood Forester' stands in one of the outside roads. Originally built as No. D100 at British Railways Crewe Works in 1961 it was withdrawn from traffic on 8th December 1985.
