An ultra wide view of part of the BZK loco pool at Pirdop on 14th October 2017. Present in this view are five Romanian built Class 40 Electroputere electrics and five Class 87 imports from the UK. BZK (Bulgarian Railway Company) of which initially 50% was owned by the Romanian Grampet Group and 50% by the major fertiiser producer Agropolychim began operations in 2004. For a short period a joint operation was run by GFR and CFR Marfa with locomotives adopting the 'Rolling Stock' livery. All Class 40 locos in use with BZK had Cyrillic vinyls applied to the sides which when translated into English reads as 'Bulgarian Railway Company'.
