During the week following Christmas 2022 the Swanage Railway operated a Winter Explorer schedule of services using the Class 117 DMU set. on the day this scene was recorded, the 29th December 2022, the unit was configured of two cars from the 117 set and Class 121 Bubble Car No. 55028 attached on the rear. No. 51388 leads this combination of vehicles into Corfe Castle with the 13:30 train from Swanage. The third car from the Class 117 set can be seen in the siding having just had the engine started following maintenance work to the gearbox and alternator.
