Welsh Highland Railway 2-6-2 and 2-6-2 Beyer Garratt No. 143 stands at Caernarfon station on the Welsh Highland Railway on 27th June 2023 awaiting departure with the 10.10 service to Porthmadog, The Snowdonia Star. Originally supplied to South Africa in 1958, No. 143 was the last Garratt locomotive built by Beyer Peacock at Manchester and entered service with the WHR in 1998.
