Beyer Garratt 2-6-2+2-6-2 No. 143 prepares to take on coal and water at Porthmadog station on the Welsh Highland Railway on 27th June 2023 having arrived with the 10:10 service from Caernarfon. This was the last Garratt locomotive to be built by Beyer Peacock in Manchester and was originally supplied to South Africa before being repatriated to the UK in 1997.
