With just three months left in regular service Class 46 No. 46045 accelerates through Cardiff Central on 9th August 1984 with a Margam Yard - Severn Tunnel Yard steel working. Later renumbered 97404 and placed in departmental stock, the locomotive was withdrawn in 1990 and is now preserved and currently resides on the Severn Valley Railway.
