A new intermodal flow from Trafford Park to South Bank Tees Dock has recently commenced operation with motive power provided by DRS. Class 68 No. 68033 'The Poppy' sweeps through Moorthorpe with the 04.25 early morning departure from Manchester routed a rather long way round via Crewe, Lichfield, Derby and the S&K route to York.
