A busy scene approaching Preston on 20th February 2025, as DRS Class 68 No. 68034 'Rail Riders 2020' heads a Daventry to Coatbridge intermodal train as in the distance Avanti West Coast Class 390 Pendolino No. 390011 heads south with a service that should have been from Edinburgh but was started at Preston to London Euston via Birmingham New Street.In addition a Manchester Airport to Blackpool North Northern EMU approaches on an adjacent track.
