A Pathfinder Tours charter 'The Weardale Explorer' passes Copmanthorpe on 5th April 2025, headed by West Coast Railways Class 47 No. 47832. The train ran from Gloucester to Darlington, Shildon and Stanhope, with sister loco No. 47813 on the rear.
