Upminster depot celebrated its 50th anniversary on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August by holding an open day. The event featured an array of Tube trains representing the past, present and future of the District line. Pannier Tank 7715 from the Spa Valley was on display at the depot. 7715 was sold to London Transport in 1963, where it was renumbered L.99 and repainted into LT Maroon. The locomotive was finally preserved in 1970.
