The long straight section of track between Ely and March gives the driver of Freightliner Class 66/5, No. 66501 'JAPAN 2001', time to put his feet up and relax a little as he heads the 4E55 Felixstowe - Doncaster Railport Freightliner service into the evening sunshine near Manea in Cambridgeshire on Friday 4th June 2010. The bridges in the distance span the Old and New Bedford Rivers, separated by the Hundred Foot Washes, which together form the principal drainage system in the southern part of the Fens.
