Class 165/1 No. 165126 arrives at Mortimer with a Basingstoke to Reading working. The station was opened in 1848,the buildings being in the Italianate style by Brunel for the Great Western Railway. They are the only substantially intact survivors of this, once common, design. The buildings are listed Grade II* Althougn the photo was taken 11 years ago, there has been little change to the station.
