The initial runs of the Shakespeare Express were made over the weekend of June 8 / 9 1985 when Tyseley used its flagship locomotives Castle Class 4-6-0 No. 7029 Clun Castle and Jubilee Class 4-6-0 5593 Kolhapur on a series of trains between Tyseley and Stratford on Avon. On June 8 the last train of the day was worked by No. 7029, here seen curving through Wilmcote on the outskirts of Stratford on Avon.
