The island platform illustrates well the extant ex Midland Railway infrastructure at Skipton station and although the canopy has been much foreshortened it is still in pristine condition. The overgrown area to the right is the former Platforms 5 & 6 through which the single line to Swinden Quarry runs but the Embsay & Bolton Abbey preserved railway have aspirations to reuse it if they extend to Skipton. Class 333 No. 333010 waits to form the 15.00 Skipton-Bradford Forster Square on 10th June 2011.
