Originally built by Hudswell Clarke Works No. 1238of1916 for First World War Office service this loco went to Ashanti Gold Corporation in the Gold Coast(Ghana) and eventually was returned to the UK in 2008. After extensive restoration and a recent repaint No. 9 is in active service at the Apedale Valley Light Railway as seen at 'Silverdale' on 23rd August 2025.
