BR built LMS ‘2’ 2-6-2T No. 41222 waiting with the Bedford-Bletchley push-pull train in the centre road at Bedford St Johns station in September 1958. One of a batch of 20 locos built in 1948 that were turned out with ‘British Railways’ in full on the tanks. Close inspection reveals that the original coat of paint is still being worn.
