LMS Stanier 8F 2-8-0 No. 48773 is seen at Rose Grove Depot on 4th August 1968 after its last working, on the 'Farewell to Steam' tour on the Blackburn to Carnforth leg double heading with Black 5 No. 44781. No. 48773 was originally built as No. 8233 and was sent to Iraq in 1941 returning to the UK in 1952 and then going to the Longmoor Military Railway as WD500. Eventually going to BR in 1957 as No. 48773 this locomotive was preserved and restored at the Severn Valley Railway where it can be seen in 2013 at the Engine House Highley, awaiting overhaul.
