Beyer Peacock built a 0-6-0ST locomotive, works number 1830, in 1879 for Rothervale colliery and it was named 'Rothervale No. 1'. In 1929 another locomotive delivered to the colliery, which should have been named 'Rothervale No. 10' was incorrectly also numbered No. 1.  To resolve the problem the older locomotive had its nameplates altered to 'Rothervale No. 0', as there was only space on the plates for a single digit! This locomotive was scrapped in 1959, but the nameplates were saved and one is displayed in Chasewater Railway museum at Brownhills West, seen on 24th August 2025.
