The Derby Industrial Museum at the Silk Mill had a large area of exhibits showing the importance of the Railways to the City. This museum was mothballed in early April 2011 and the Railwayana could no longer be seen. Examples seen here (2nd April 2011) are the nameplate "Tyrwhitt" from LMS Stanier Jubilee Class No. 45657, built at Derby in 1934 (1 0f 10), and the nameplate "The Girl Guide", from LMS Royal Scot No. 46168, one of 20 Fowler parallel boilered examples also built at Derby. As the Silk Mill has recently reopened it is hoped that railway exhibits return once more for public viewing.
